On January 20, 2005, my life was changed forever. I was on my way home from my crossing guard job at Sycamore Elementary with my son Daniel, who at that time was 2 1/2 years old. While singing BINGO by Veggie Tales with him, a truck came at us on my side of the road hitting us head on. I was life-flighted to Erlanger where I suffered from a broken femur in my left leg, a crushed left knee, 6 pelvic fractures, a hairline fracture to the tailbone and a battery acid burn to my left ankle. I went through 3 surgeries during my 11 day stay there. I now have a rod and six pins in my left leg and 16 pins in my left knee as well as 3 pelvic rings. I then spent 11 days in a rehab facility, 3 months in a wheel chair, ongoing physical therapy and wound care. My femur bone did not heal and I had to have bone graft surgery in June 2005. I was non-weight bearing on my legs and on a walker until October of 2005. I am so grateful to God first of all for sparing my life and my sons, secondly to my doctor who had the bedside manners of Jesus and last, but not least, my family(including my church family).
Every day has it's aches and pains, and getting older doesn't help, and some days unbearable. I went to my orthopedic doctor back in Ocotober 2010 and I have bursitus in my right hip and arthritis in my left hip. He gave me a cortozone shot in my hip and yes, it helped, however it hurt as bad as my bone graft and I vowed then to never do it again. Which leads me to ZIJA.....
For the past month every step I took hurt on both sides of my body. Now I know that pain is different for everyone and everyone's body reacts differently, but I started taking ZIJA on March 10, 2011 and I could tell a huge difference in my pain level decreasing and my energy level increasing by March 12, 2012.
